Today was a driving day from Agrigento to the villa Romana
dei Casale near Piazza Armarina. The villa was amazing with mosaic floors over
the whole mansion. There were three different pool rooms of different
temperatures; a 1600 year old gym, whore house, gladiator ring and more. Some of the mosaics were the 60m long... the length of the corridor.

We then continued on to Seracusa and Ortigia. A little island with buildings all around. You could walk from the eastern side to the western side in a matter of minutes. Quaint shops in the streets and narrow driving ways. The tom tom tried to take us up a very narrow street which we all though couldn't be correct… turns out it was one of the wider roads on this small island…
Our host was a really nice Italian man (Enzo) who spoke fantastic English which was helpful so he could show us all the sights to see in the area. Academies square, the Duomo, places to eat and visit like the pool under a restaurant… He seams to talk for a long time and was so passionate about Syracuse and its surrounding area.

We went for a walk on the western side of the island but the winds we just too strong as there was a storm off shore.
We ended up having dinner at a place Enzo suggested and it was a lovely restaurant run by a couple with only 8 tables, good thing we got a reservation. We had a ‘Academies’ red vino and some lovely pasta dishes at Sicily on a Table (translated)
