Most of the way there, currently sitting in Dubai having a coffee date with the Fiance’. Cost
up 44 AED…whatever that means but hey we needed the caffeine.
Kate has developed some cankles and requires a good stroll around the airport. There are so many duty free shops in the airport it's crazy; aisle upon aisle of luxury products. Incredible wealth. There was even a four storey water feature just at the
entrance to the subway.
Auckland seems an age away but it was only 24 hours ago, or
two dinners, a nap and some breakfast since we left the rain. When we landed in
Dubai it was 30 degrees at 5am.
We have been extremely lucky with our seats, getting a row
of just two, to ourselves. The food and service was amazing. Loving
emirates. Our next leg is our final leg
before we officially start our holiday with a night in Rome. Have spotted the
plane and it is big, a two storey A380-800. Better hit the baby wipes shower
and a change of clothes then. The 777 on the way here had stars on the roof at night time looked great.

Here is a picture looking towards Iraq at 40,000ft. It looks like the desert runs forever. Small towns dot the edge of a river running out to the coast. Incredible sight.. We had plenty of chances to get our drink on on the plane, some nice French wine and beers went down a treat. The plane had some live cameras so you could look directly down, or watch the plane itself from the tail. Pretty cool.

After landing and making our way to the hotel we went for a short stroll in Rome and came across this and heard the bells ringing.
