European Adventures - Day 22

Today we had a full day in Paris. After a sweet buffet breakfast with waffles and chocolate pastries we went on a tour on the bus seeing more sights of Paris. Making our way to the Eiffel tower at 9.00 to make our 9.30 (when the tower opens) booking. Glad we were there early as the lines quickly grew, we were at the top when there were less than 10 people there, awesome. Such fantastic views over Paris, shame about the hase/smog but still great none the less.

After a while up the top we came down the elevator to the 2nd level then waked down from there, quite a few steps! We grabbed some lunch to take with us to Versaillis.
The palace of Versaillis was so spectacular. So much money in one massive palace and gardens. The gardens were one 10x the size they are now, but they are still huge. There’s no wonder there was a revolution though with all this money in this one spot! After eating lunch in the gardens we had a tour of the inside where we went through the 1st and 2nd kings bedrooms and the famous hall of mirrors. They had just put gold on the fence and roof 4 years ago so it was still looking nice and shiny.

Following the palace we went on a tour of a perfume museum and shop where we learnt some history and about the process of making perfumes. Kate and I got some to bring home also. We then had a walk down the famous Paris shopping streets (window shopping) before having a tour of Nostradamus and the lantern quarter. Dinner was at a lovely restaurant where again I had duck but this time cooked in fat. The restaurant was super-hot again though!
