The Muriwai Gannet Colony is only a short 40 minute drive out of Auckland. Kate and I headed out that way for a walk and look around. Here are some pictures from the quick trip.

Tongariro Crossing
The Tongariro Crossing is in the center of the North Island and is a 19.4km tramp which can be completed in 1 day. Took us about 7hrs including stops. Here are some photos from the day. There were stunning views in every direction from the moment we woke up in National Park. one up high looking east we could see Mt Taranaki, on the decent we could see the other side of lake Taupo.
We decided on this trip not to do the summit or Mount Ngauruhoe as it would of added extra time to the day which we all weren't up for. Tongariro Summit adds and extra 1.5hrs and up to Mount Ngauruhoe Summit adds and additional 2.5hrs but you have to be fit!
The Emerald lakes (the highlight of the walk) are amazing, such deep colours.
On the Sunday we took the long way home and went via Taupo and soaked our sore bodies in the thermal pool, great way to finish the weekend off :)
This post is again; very photo heavy.

Sunshine Coast Trip - Honeymoon
We had an amazing time on our honeymoon, we got to see quite a lot around the Sunshine Coast. From Noosa heads to Australia Zoo and The Glasshouse Mountains there were plenty of different activities to keep us entertained. Here are some photos and a few of the things we got up to. This is quite a long post as there we so many great sites.
First up here's the accommodation we had at the Sebel Maroochydore when we arrived on the Friday.

Wedding and Messing around with photos
No photos from the wedding here but there are loads on facebook.. I've been messing around with a few pics to get used to Lightroom and Photoshop. Here are some of the results. Some interesting ones.
We had a great stay here after the wedding for two nights. Massive breakfasts each morning with more than we could eat. Lovely people and great spot.

This was just over the fence where I stayed with my folks for 3 nights before the wedding, saw it and thought I could do something arty with it.

Northland Trip
Our trip up north after spending some time in Christchurch (and a bit in Auckland before had) involved some walks and time to take some nice photos. This is a broken boat outside Cheryl and Don's place on the Kerikeri inlet.
